Cello FactoryWhen you play your cello and find that you begin to struggle with bow control, start to apply force on the strings in playing and then sound starts to become dull, it’s the time to check if you have enough rosin.
The bow consumption of rosin depends on how often you play. In general, students will need to reapply rosin again before practice and perhaps again after 1-2 hours of playing.
In fact, the most important indicator is your touching on the bow and the sound. To allow you and the instrument to perform at their own levels, you should reapply rosin on selected places or the whole bow as appropriate and clean off excess rosin on the strings using professional rosin remover.
