Rosin is essential in playing any string instruments because it provides the bow hair with friction in order to grip the strings and produce a sound. Also, rosin may influence the sound and playability of your bow.
Rosin applied on bow hair will wear off as you pull across the strings. So don’t forget to have your rosin ready to make sure you can play properly!
