Cello FactoryRosin is a necessity in strings instrument playing but rosin dust is a danger to the instrument because can cause damage to the finish.
The dust coming from the bow hair can easily accumulate on the uneven surface of the instrument and the strings so it makes it difficult to wipe it away.
Rosin is hardened resin and melts at high heat. To protect your instrument’s finish and your strings, you should avoid dry wipe, or using water, or using alchoholic cleaner for the residue. There are rosin removers especially made do this job.
